5 Red Star Rated Winery – Halliday

As you roll into Clyde Park and meander along the long driveway to arrive at the cellar door, you realise that this could be the most peaceful, serene winery in Geelong. The Valley is welcoming, and off the back of the winery, there is a great seating area where you can just take it all in.

Wood fired pizza sets the menu off starting at $28, entrée and shared plates start at $10, mains kick off at $26 and be warned you might want to try it all. The food here is delicious.

With a large seating area, you can typically find a seat here for lunch; this venue is also popular for functions such is the size of it.

Now the 5 Red Star rating that Clyde Park has earned has come from consistently producing outstanding wines that have received a score of 95 points or more. The wines that are responsible for these high scores are their single block Pinot Noirs, The Reserve Chardonnay and lastly the Shiraz.

Three tiers of wines are available from Clyde Park, keep in mind not all are available for tasting. The ‘Locale’ is their entry level, and these wines start at $28. Up from that is the ‘Estate’ range this is what you will be able to taste at the winery. Starting at $30 for the Rosé and then moving up to $40 for the likes of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay offerings. The third tier on offer is the ‘Single Block’ selection. These wines are nothing short of beautiful, but they would want to be. At $75 a bottle these might not be your everyday drinking wines, but certainly for those special occasions. You can often try one of the single block Pinot Noirs, and this can also be purchased by the glass.

Clyde Park is popular spot throughout the Moorabool Valley, and I would say a must visit for anyone venturing out that way.
