Our opinion is that there is no such thing as a bad beer just that some are better than others. The truth to that statement lies with you, and the only way you will know which of the local Geelong beers you will love will be to come out on a beer tour with us and explore them.
The craft beer scene is alive and thriving here in Geelong and now is the perfect time to get out and explore them.
Way back in 5000 BC was when beer was first documented on scrolls by the ancient Egyptians! Wow, no doubt a lot has changed since then! However, you will be able to see that even after all these years some things never change. The fundamentals of beer all come down to four main ingredients. What are they you might be asking? Well, let us show you first hand!
INTRODUCTION TO GEELONG BEER TOURS
Our reputation throughout Geelong as a tour operator has been built around our ability to host Wine Tours, and it was from there that several of our delighted clients were asking what else we do to create a day out for them again?
The natural progression was to beer, but what made that possible was the number of craft breweries that were starting to open up throughout the region. They are all well worth exploring, and from there you can be the judge as to which one you rate number one.
Having already hosted several beer tours it was time to create something with more appeal to you the fellow beer lover; we wanted to break it down into simple packages that are easy to understand. We know you are busy and having to put too much time and effort into something like this is almost too much hard work.
Now, important to note ‘we love beer too’ and there is nothing that brings more satisfaction to us than knowing you have had a great time learning and tasting the incredible line up of beers on offer throughout Geelong.
You get to taste we get to enjoy watching you and your crew have fun. Once the day is complete, no doubt we will be ready for a beer ourselves.
WHAT ARE THE BEST BREWERIES TO VISIT IN GEELONG?
We certainly have some favourites, and it is hard to go past the enormity and exciting atmosphere that is on offer at Little Creatures. Based in South Geelong this brewery is easily accessible, has secure parking and a feel and vide about the place that makes it so inviting to come back again and again.
Then you have a place like Valhalla in the heart of Geelong; this small boutique place rips through some classic vinyl tracks to keep the mood relaxed and charming. With five local beers to try from head brewer Scott, you will find yourself spending some time here. On top of that, there are plenty of other craft beers from around the state and country on offer.
The Queenscliffe Brewhouse which is only a short 25 min drive from Geelong is another one of our favourite stops. They have spent some time and money to get the place in tip-top condition. Not only are they producing beer onsite they are also offering Gin and local wines for tasting. This is a bit of a one-stop shop for an array of different local products to try.
The fact is that all of the breweries are well worth a visit and each of them offers up their expression of liquid gold brews just waiting for you to try them. You might need to do two days of touring to get around to them all. We can help with that.

HOW MANY BREWERIES IN GEELONG?
There are several breweries in and around Geelong, but not all of them are open to the public some of them are open during the week and closed the weekend, and others are only open on the weekend, and some quite simply are not open to the public at all.
Thirteen breweries are on offer in and around Geelong, now keep in mind that not all of them are open for tastings.

When you book with us on any of our Geelong Beer Tours (by Wilsons), you should expect a friendly and energetic guide. We know one thing is for sure that having the RIGHT person driving you around your crew around for the day is crucial to you having fun.
Imagine lots of cold delicious tasting beer, where the personality of each brewery shines through in every glass. Listening to the brewer or venue host talk you through the life cycle of each beer and what the process was to get that specific flavour profile. Yeah, there will be plenty of that on the day too!
Water & Snacks – we provide plenty of these, so you don’t have to worry about bringing a thing. Just be ready at the designated pick up point at the arranged time, and everything will be taken care of.
Fun – we have plenty of that on the way

My name is David Wilson and having spent 25 years in the alcohol industry. I promise you this is not a job for me; this is my passion! In a previous life, I used to host guests from America through New Zealand and Australia – that was on a lot larger scale than what we are offering now, but it provided me with the foundation of how to serve the clients and how to make sure they have a great time!
TIPS FOR A GREAT BEER TOUR
- Don’t party too late the night before
- Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of – this is will aid recovery the day after
- Have a good breakfast
- Have fun
- Be nice
It is a simple little list that will keep you in good stead for the day. At the end of the day, it is all about having a good time and we will make sure that happens.
